Entorno alimentario digital y comportamiento alimentario en niños y adolescentes: una revisión sistemática

La exposición constante de niños y adolescentes al marketing digital de alimentos representa una preocupación creciente para la salud pública, debido a su asociación con el consumo de productos ultraprocesados y con patrones de alimentación poco saludables. El objetivo fue resumir la evidencia científica disponible sobre la influencia del entorno alimentario digital en el comportamiento alimentario de esta población. Se ejecutó una revisión sistemática de la literatura publicada entre 2021 y 2026 en PubMed, SciELO y LILACS, mediante un proceso estructurado de identificación, cribado y selección. Los resultados evidenciaron que la exposición al marketing digital incrementa de forma consistente la preferencia y el consumo de alimentos poco saludables. Este efecto se relacionó con el uso de publicidad emocional, personajes reconocibles e influencers, así como con mecanismos indirectos como la insatisfacción corporal y la alimentación emocional. Estos descubrimientos son coherentes con estudios anteriores que identifican al marketing alimentario como un determinante comercial de la salud, y amplían dicha evidencia al mostrar que los estudios latinoamericanos, aunque escasos, replican patrones similares a los reportados en países de altos ingresos. Se concluye que el entorno alimentario digital constituye un determinante relevante de la salud alimentaria infantil y adolescente, lo que respalda la necesidad de fortalecer las políticas regulatorias del marketing digital dirigido a esta población.
