Administrative management and care of people with physical disabilities in an Ecuadorian public institution
Main Article Content
Abstract
Administrative management is a key component in ensuring adequate care for users with physical disabilities in public institutions. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of administrative management on the care provided to people with physical disabilities at the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion in the canton of Quevedo during 2023. A mixed methodological approach was applied, with a descriptive and correlational scope, through interviews with administrative staff and surveys of users, using an instrument based on the SERVPERF model. The population consisted of users with physical disabilities and officials involved in administrative processes, with a sample of 326 participants. The results show deficiencies in administrative processes related to response times, case prioritization, and institutional coordination, which directly affect the perception of service quality. The overall effectiveness of administrative management reached a level of 78%, which is considered acceptable, although there are areas for improvement. It is concluded that more efficient, coordinated, and user-oriented administrative management contributes significantly to strengthening comprehensive care and social inclusion for people with physical disabilities in the institutional sphere.
