Business ethics and social responsibility in artificial intelligence

Abstract

This study is developed in the context of the need to strengthen institutional planning through tools that integrate strategic management and evidence-based decision making. The objective was to design a comprehensive strategic planning model for higher education institutions in Ecuador. The methodology adopted a mixed approach with qualitative predominance, under a non-experimental documentary and descriptive design. Bibliographic review and comparative analysis techniques were applied, complemented by semi-structured interviews with institutional experts. The results show that many institutions lack alignment between mission, vision and strategic objectives, which weakens the effectiveness of their operational plans. The proposed model articulates key dimensions such as governance, institutional performance, social responsibility and continuous improvement, facilitating periodic evaluation and accountability. It is concluded that the adoption of this model can optimize strategic planning processes in Ecuadorian universities, thus contributing to a more effective, transparent and consistent management with national quality and accreditation standards.
