La brecha digital como obstáculo para la comunicación comunitaria en zonas rurales del Ecuador

Resumen
La brecha digital en zonas rurales del Ecuador continúa siendo un obstáculo para el desarrollo social, la participación comunitaria y el acceso equitativo a oportunidades educativas y económicas. Este estudio tiene como objetivo caracterizar y analizar la producción científica relacionada con la comunicación comunitaria y la inclusión digital en contextos rurales del país. Se aplicó una revisión sistemática de literatura y un análisis bibliométrico utilizando bases de datos especializadas y herramientas de visualización de redes. Los resultados muestran que la investigación se concentra en tres ejes temáticos: conectividad e inclusión digital, comunicación comunitaria y educación digital. Se identificó una predominancia de estudios realizados en Ecuador, aunque con una participación relevante de colaboraciones internacionales. El análisis temático revela que la superación de la brecha digital no se limita a la infraestructura, sino que requiere de programas de formación, fortalecimiento de capacidades y estrategias que integren las dimensiones sociales y culturales. La discusión interpreta estos hallazgos como evidencia de una transición hacia enfoques integrales, en los que la tecnología se articula con procesos comunitarios para promover un desarrollo sostenible. Se concluye que cerrar la brecha digital en las zonas rurales del Ecuador implica un abordaje multidimensional que combine infraestructura, capacitación y apropiación social de las tecnologías, garantizando su uso como herramienta para la transformación comunitaria.
