Methodological synergies: PBL and gamification as tools for the implementation of UDL in technology-mediated learning environments

Abstract
The expansion of technology-mediated learning environments has reinforced the need for pedagogical designs capable of addressing student diversity from the outset. Within this framework, the aim of the study was to critically analyze the methodological synergies among Project-Based Learning, gamification, and Universal Design for Learning in digital educational settings. The research adopted a qualitative, documentary, and exploratory approach based on a systematized literature review of academic studies published between 2014 and 2025 in specialized databases. The findings show that the articulation of these three perspectives enhances student engagement, motivation, active participation, collaboration, and pedagogical accessibility, provided that there is coherence among learning objectives, activities, assessment, and technological mediation. It is concluded that this convergence represents a relevant pathway for strengthening inclusive, flexible, and meaningful learning experiences, although its effectiveness depends on the quality of instructional design and institutional support.
